We tried to sell our house just as the market slowed. Despite no sale, an East Coast realtor made me laugh with this true story. (Quirky)

quote-of-the-day
You won an award for ethics. It paid off for you. Doesn't that represent a conflict of interests? (Stephen Colbert talking to a Senator for Tennessee.) (Daily quote.)

Ed the Editor's personal blog corner

Getting back up in the saddle is hard on a Monday morning. So I waited till this evening to blog instead!

Ever had a day when a lot of pennies dropped in your mind and life took on a new dimension? It happened to me this weekend, and I was not in a church.

Reading a blog about blogging, it dawned on me that I had been writing lots of material, but a lot of it has gone unread. The reason is, that once an article has disappeared into the archives, nobody, except real fans, are ever going to find it. As we have as many fans as Howard K Stern, our old articles will probably never be found, unless new posts include deep links back to those old ones. Deep links will revive the obsolete topics, give them relevance, and overall improve the quality and depth of material on The Pisstakers. Thank you John Chow for the tip.

Then a second penny dropped. Watching Stephen Colbert, I realised I ain't that funny. But as someone pointed out, he has a team of writers and the benefit of editing, so of course he has a slight advantage. And the third realisation was that in my long term game plan, the idea has always been to have a team of writers at The Pisstakers. So, until the collaboration materialises, I better try hard and keep doggy paddling in a sea of satire till we can float everyone's boat.

In honor of real life being funnier than fiction, and following the advice of a master blogger, there will now be a series of links back to
Overheard In posts that have been sitting snugly in the archives.

Thanks for taking time out your schedule.
