Now that Obama has his hands on the wallet of America, it is nice to see a shift in the redistribution of tax payers' dollars. The war monger companies are now out of favor, and in their place, earth-moving contractors, public works officials at City hall, and every male with a pulse and a pick axe are rubbing their hands in glee at the hand-outs coming their way.

Trickle down economics is hard at work, and already the aforementioned beneficiaries are placing orders for Escalades and second homes.

I am all for creative economics, and this sort of massive public works strategy may have worked in the past, but I have serious reservations about this time round. Back in the day, I bet there weren't quite so many sharp and opportunist citizens as are now hard at work on the internet, working out how to divert some of that immense $850bn of funny money their way.

In years to come, let's hope we aren't gathered round the unlit fire, recounting endless examples of new-made millionaires sticking the finger at the 3 hundreds of millions indebted up to the eye balls and financially enslaved for generations.
