As the snow falls deep and crisp and even, I am looking at the feed reader and realise that Good King xFruits is slacking and some of the recent posts aren't shining out. Sorry folks, you can't escape that easily.

Edsfavicon Ben Stein ripped into Goldman Sachs. I don't think he was quite on the money with his claims. Or, his tilt at GS is BS!

Edsfavicon I introduced Link-a-Post yesterday. It is my bid to make a better world for bloggers and entrepreneurs in the Third World, well past Christmas and well into the New year. I hope to hear from you, at least to say whether you think it can work in its current format, or if not, give me some pointers.

SmartLinks say they like what they see and I feel a few SmartLink users calling by to take a look. Don't get caught in the rush!

Edsfavicon Beacon Awards. I was one of 5 tiddlers caught in Debbie Dolphin's nets. It also seems as though Reuters are trawling the web for original posts and they found her. Good vibes for the small guys.

Edsfavicon And for some reason, MyBlogLog Sunday 35 never appeared in the RSS feeder. I hope it didn't put the Breaking News team off their filming. Lights, cameras, action.

301 redirects, oooh, that sounds geeky. Indeed, it is, but 301's, as we call them in the game, are a part of blogmeistery that you need to be aware of.

The advert on TV from Gibbs, the career people, has a horrifying message, I think.

Wall St is smarting right now, but it was black too, back in February. The Chinese stock market fell 9% in a day and corporate America did as expected and panicked. China watched and smiled.

Garry Conn found a cool way to leverage some link love for the blog posts you Stumble. Look in my right side bar under "Recent posts" and you will see a link to the RSS feed on Ed's Stumble account. Clever, hey!

Trip down memory lane

It is a big day in Ed land so enjoy a blast from last September that you may not have seen before.

Just when slimmers thought it was safe to eat out at MacDonalds again...
“We did not expect these new salad entrées to be so loaded with fat and cholesterol,” says Brie Turner-McGrievy, M.S., R.D., the clinical research coordinator at PCRM.
Brie continues
Americans thinking about getting in shape and heading to the beach this summer should steer clear of the heavily hyped ‘salads’ that are smothered with chicken, cheese and other fatty foods.
It burgers belief that MacDonalds' style of salad can be fattier and more cholestrol laden than the famed Big Mac, but it says so here.

Is it not just more honest of the vendors from hell to say

"If you are fat, that's the way we like you, and our salads will keep you that way!"

Good luck to all concerned, especially the Chinese currently in MacDonalds' sights. Just like Mickie D's execs study stats, so the Chinese should record their waistlines now and again in 2017. Compare the growth. It should be stellar results for all concerned.

They say John Lennon was killed because of one throwaway modest comment about the Beatles being more popular than Jesus. See if you are at risk from assassination!

Celebrity hair takes a mild swipe at Keith Richard who took a swipe at Swedish journalists who accused him of being drunk on stage. Er, yeah!

I managed to prise Mrs Ed into the Bourne Ultimatum and judging by the bruise on my arm, even she enjoyed the highly improbable action-packed trip round the world of CIA dirty tricks.

Pisstakers Archives

A blogger's work is never done and over the last 24 hours I have introduced a Celebrity section (work in progress), added BlogCatalog discussions, sorted out the sidebars and experimented with the titles. If the site disappears off the radar, you know why!

Archives

I think the theme and sidebars look OK, but on the downside there is a small change in how you access the archives. Articles from way back when are now accessible from the left sidebar in the "Categories" section, or from here!! Thank you for your patience.

Blogcatalog

Blogcatalog is a "clone" of MyBlogLog, but it has a great Discussions feature which gives it an edge in the competitive world of networking for bloggers. So I am trialling a dirty great widget here in this post, and if it loads quickly, I will move it to a permanent and prominent spot in the sidebar

Celebrity news bashing

And please, don't be too cynical about celebrities. They all have something valuable to offer society and I intend to find that little something and highlight it for your delight and delectation. The posts will be happy humorous ones, and only when there is nothing inspirational to relate, will I resort to bitchy posts about twitchy eyes, alcoholism and knickerless debauchery.
