Thanks to some photographers who want to enforce the copyright on their thumbnails, that's right, their thumbnails, there will be no further promotion of any photos on this site via Flickr badges.
Some have mentioned that I have been "stealing photos". If you want to spin stealing from "Using a flickr API to promote photos via a randomly displaying thumbnail that links direct to the original photo - plus a clear message that I in no way lay claim to any of the images as my own", please carry on without me. You deserve all the luck in the world generating revenue or kudos or whatever it is you feel the need to protect.
The last time I looked, Flickr was a site full of family holiday snaps, pissed up party-goings-on and some pretty creative amateur photography. I stupidly thought that most people posting on Flickr would be chuffed for any visitors they could get. Not on my watch, any more, sorry.
Congratulations to the minority for living to the letter of a gray law, and spoiling it for the majority.
