This is not remotely funny so don't look for a cheap shot here! However, what was amusing was recalling the story of the stupid woman who, in the early days of microwaves, accidentally fried her cat's intestines while trying to dry it off. On reflection, not a good story for cat lovers either, but an interesting insight into how technology in the wrong hands can be awfully dangerous.

And lo-tech heating options can be sketchy too. Remember the sun worshipper who wrapped herself in aluminum foil and went to sleep in a rocky sun trap on the beach? Ouch.
