Leave SEO to the experts

stats-links

Looking for inspiration for a techy post, I had a scan through the statistics and found the external pages that had linked to The Pisstakers this month. It is quite a role of honor and made me realise what a diverse world of tech bloggers lies out there. It is also quite daunting to realise just how "fierce" the competition is. Thank god we aren't serious and don't go head to head with real experts.

Crystal Coast tech and SEO

The bloggers with the biggest RSS feed button in the world don't profess to be total SEO experts. However they do write well, and do know more than the average techno bore. They are running a series of articles on SEO and started off with title tags. We learnt plenty and will use the info, hopefully to good effect.

The Pisstakers and SEO

,
We would tackle this weighty topic with a mix of obligation and dread. Essentially, optimising your content for Google and co is important for bloggers, but we don't understand the ins and outs of a robot, and don't even know what a spider does that a crawler can't, so we would have to hide behind throwaway comments, and take the piss, like, "The title is important and needs to convey the content that follows!"

We are far happier blethering on about blogging in the robots.txt file. And according to the stats, our readers like that sort of stuff from us too. So the moral is: Pisstakers take the piss, and the experts like Crystal Coast Tech teach the masses correctly about stodgy SEO.

I would have carried on talking about inspirational posts from other tech blogs, but I don't have a clue why Crunchnotes and Techcrunch got their knickers in a twist over wikipedia editing, and how do you get satirical about Deducting Office space for tax purposes?
