Blogaboutyourblog review

The title, Blog About Your Blog, is easy to read but hard to type, so I will refer to this neat compendium of bloggers' articles as BAYB.

The main BAYB protagonist

Matt has been quietly working his charm, persuading some of the better writers from around the internet to write for him. Now he has quite a stable of bloggers producing a regular and growing flow of well-constructed and insightful posts.

Having seen the design and website development work produced by Lee, it also seems fair to say that Matt knows where he is going with this project. And having dealt with him albeit via email, he seems to be a man of his word. All-in-all, many plus points as a worthy leader - or do we now view him as joint commander-in-chief with Lee? The plot thickens.

The BAYB content

It is best described (by me, at least) as a carefully constructed free-for-all that seems to hinge neatly around bloggers' needs. So the early birds who wrote about money-making schemes and blog monetizing how-to's have been joined by other bloggers with varied interests and styles. Now you can feast your eyes on google bombing, first images of Venom, greetings cards, and all manner of other eclectic posts that complement the site overall.

Credible blogging blog

Whilst it is accepted that contributors will plug their own sites, fortunately people don't use the BAYB phenomenon just to say hi and blab on about how great they are, never to return. The invitation angle ensures a better class of person, huh hummmm. Seriously, you just have to look at the content to see that writers try to pass on meaningful and useful information, and the linking and self promotion within posts is really well done.

Also look at the posts count to see that most members are participating somewhat regularly, which adds credibility to the writers and to the whole site.

Credible links

One of the advantages of the blog is that it provides a linking platform for other bloggers - ie it is a glorified directory with real content. How refreshing, when compared to the usual suspects in the world of bland link exchange programs.

The future of blogaboutyourblog?

In the New year the blog grew up and took on its own domain name. With a forum and flashing ads and nifty commenting, now it can rightly claim to be a constantly improving platform to promote other bloggers. Let us hope Matthew and Lee can keep the content predominant and the sideshows complementary, as we don't want it to lose its homely and informative feel just yet.

A final thought

Blogaboutyourlblog is trying to improve the popularity of contributors' sites, but presumably BAYB has potential as a money-generating site in its own right. Ultimately, therefore, let's hope that the BAYB team do as well as the guys running MyBlogLog, (a slick but almost content-free blogger directory that apparently just got bought out by Yahoo for a few million). Perhaps the guys will share some mega-million love amongst their posters, just like they do on MyLot, a site with a payment program that is often mentioned in fairly glowing terms on the BAYB blog.

A final final thought

Whatever the financial possibilities, I suggest any half decent blogger who reads this and wants a great platform for their writing skills, should approach the BAYB team and ask if they can submit a few articles. Email ff_n_stuff@yahoo.com

And if anyone reading this knows how to be remotely humorous, maybe contact Ed the Editor here and offer to send in an article or two that would slot effortlessly into The Pistakers.

Ultimate thought

If you would like your blog to be reviewed, drop us a line. And if you have already been featured, nail home the advantage and let us have some new info to add into another post, so that we can further add links back to your site.
