Having promised to do a review of Blogtopicz, here goes.

Zen the Shadow, aka Zenny, believes that content is king. He is a fast thinking, speedy writing blogger who picks up on any idea for a post and runs with it. Lucky for readers, he sprints along in a very engaging and amusing way. From tech to entertainment gossip, Blogtopicz is there in the thick of it and Zenny let's the reader know exactly how he feels.

Starting from the top, the look of the site is very Oriental. There is an image of Zenny kneeling and looking within for inspiration and peace of mind. It must work, because he is calmly experimenting daily with the layout and content of his sidebar. The left sided ying of the site really is a wonder to behold, like a widget heaven. Stats, backgammon, chat, RSS...

On the yang (down) side, pages are a bit slow loading sometimes. Just take a deep breath, concentrate on a point on the screen and let the moment unravel. Don't curse when a combination of widgets stalls the browser for a second or three. It is the mystery of different plug-ins and simultaneous phone backs to several sites for realtime data. Ommmmmm. The current trip down counters and polls and widgets is well worth the wait, and as I understand it, Zenny is working on finding a flash code monkey to make things happen smoother, so it can only get better.

Blogtopicz states that content is king, and there is plenty of evidence of that. Several posts a day and perpetual widgetizing keeps the site fresh. Some of the best posts are:

So all-in-all, Blogtopicz is a fast paced and funny general blog from Zenny, a blog master who, as the Brits say, is as nutty as a fruitcake and clever with it. Check it all out. No awards, because we are tight wads, but definitely a thumbs up.
