As a follow-up to the blog post I did about the Oscars of the blogging world, The Pisstakers was nominated for the Best Blog Design Award. Ooooh. Yes, ignore every word I ever typed, just look at the pictures.

This event seems to have captured the imagination at Blog About Your Blog and plenty of voting (mutual back slapping) is going on. The internal support offered at the BAYB family is deserved, because the gang of authors in the running are pretty good bloggers by any standards. Mike has seen the light and is forging alliances left and right too.

A bit of fun, but I heard a few daggers are being polished and sharpened, just in case the results don't turn out as expected.

Blog About Your Blog has put together a Blog Carnival with 20 articles from the best bloggers in their world. Starting with an in-depth analysis of the China stock market melt down by a pisstaking financial expert, the carnival moves effortlessly on to Business Elites Capitalists - a masterpiece of reason written by a real expert displaying reasoned audacity. And most remarkable, a clear and inspiring picture of US foreign policy!

In the spirit of carnivals, it meanders through all sorts of topics to tickle your fancy. There is an enlightening post concerning a lightening stop bus tour through Italy. Who would have thought such a mode of travel could become so appealing to one so young? Football fans got a day trip through the NFL from Lee and a trippy article on self -healing that made me feel great.

Earlier in the year we reported rumblings of another competition from BAYB dynamo, Matt. Update. The competition is underway
Write a review, good or bad, about BAYB and leave it to the judges to decide whether it wins the $10 prize. There are runnners-up pay outs too. Hurry hurry! And remember, you don't have to sucker up to win.

Ed has been nominated as one of the judges, so now the pressure is on him to read, and on you to scintillate.

In fact, if you want to to sucker up to a judge - write a review about The Pisstakers too while you are at it. No prize, just a nice warm fuzzy feeling that comes from reciprocal reviewing.

Back in January, the multi-contributor blog, BAYB ran a writing competition. In return for the best adjudged review of a blog outside of their stable, they offered a banner space on their homepage with 1000 free hits.

The Pisstakers won the competition, which, by definition, meant our review of Boags World was a mighty impressive piece of prose! The reality is, although it solicited a response (positive) from Paul Boag himself, it was a winner by default - the champ in a field of one.

No worries, the banner is alive and well and a few of Blog About Your Blog's several hundred visitors per day are clicking through to see what we have to offer.

In true dynamic internet tradition, the boss(es) at BAYB are always coming up with new ways to promote the blog. Comment Friday, link exchanges, adsense, ... There are rumblings of another competition, but we will never be able to win it if anyone else enters.

The title, Blog About Your Blog, is easy to read, but hard to type, so I will refer to this neat compendium of bloggers' articles as BAYB.
