Nafcom review

nafcom

Just to make it clear, the blog name has nothing to do with naff as in crap, dumb and pointless, and com has nothing to do with the world's leading dot suffix! The guy is a Commodore fan. Get it? naf-com! And crap blog is a joke too. This is a techy site with lots of little snippets about very techy topics.

Rather than glaze over at acronyms and arcane points of techno babble, (ICQ, buttons on camera phones and widgets that make life a lot easier), it is worth a scan through to see just what some consumers out there are up to in the quest for perfect information. The German? info hound actually emails massive corporations to ask awkward questions - and gets answers:

Netgear

Want to know the specifics of the IS and GR headgear and Skype phones from Netgear? Thanks to Nafcom, you have no excuse not to be able to wax eloquent to technophobes at your next dinner party!

"GR and IS are only names thare are given internally from Netgear used for different regions. GR stands for Germany. The products themselves do not differ!

Sincerely,
Netgearsupport"

Moo news

And he seems to be on first name terms with high flyers in organisations:

"Dear Joerg, Just thought you might like to know that we have launched our Paypal payment system at www.moo.com

Please feel free to contact us again if you have any questions.

Best Regards,

So, this is how the Man from Nafcom spends a few hours or minutes a day, reaping the benefits of press releases and quick emails to tech manufacturers and software houses. Good on you, Joerge, Doerge, Jörg or just plain Naffy!

Update Joerg Droege is officially the man from Nafcom

By the way, ICQ stands for .... and does what? Care to comment?
