Check out Webby's World for all your techno jargon-busting and software deconstruction needs. Webby Joe is part of the 9Rules network of ace bloggers, he has over 1200 readers subscribed via RSS and has a very easy-going but precise and informative writing style.
Some of his topics are quite techy and he likes his AJAX, but, as he is focussed on Web 2.0, that goes with the territory. From email and quotes for the future to Deer Park, (an early version of Firefox) in the past, he has covered a lot of ground since May 2005. And thanks for putting me straight about quite a few things I never even knew I had to know.
Recently he posted a particularly useful set of tips on tiny-fying long URLs. As a fan of Tinyurl.com it was a subject close to my heart, but by the end of the article, I realised how tiny my knowledge of this field had been.
For all his clarity of thought and sharp descriptions, I never did get the hang of OPML, so I haven't been able to share my Blogline RSS feed details with anyone via his slick methods. All I know is screenshots.

Webby comes up with some great insights of his own, and I was spurred to go to the TechCrunch owner's blog to read some very sparky and lively posts. My analysis after a very ennervating 30 minutes' reading of comments was similar to Webby's: an argument that had been contrived in the name of thinly disguised rabid self promotion. TechCrunch has now graduated from a fairly popular site with a credible editor, to a hugely visited site with an editor probably wishing he had kept his personal business off-line.
This tribute to Webby's World will hopefully add another notch in the popularity of his website, and I hope I have achieved something positive for his traffic stats - without resorting to any blatant attention-grabbing comments.
